The President of Commonwealth Sport, Dr. Donald Rukare, has met with Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh and Vice Patron of Commonwealth Sport, to provide an update on preparations for upcoming international sporting events.
 
The meeting, whose details were released today, focused on key milestones and future plans of the organization.
 
Dr. Rukare briefed His Royal Highness on preparations for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will bring together athletes from across the Commonwealth. He also updated the Duke on arrangements for the Commonwealth Youth Games 2027 in Malta, aimed at nurturing young sporting talent.
 
In addition, discussions covered plans for the Centenary Commonwealth Games 2030, set to be hosted in Ahmedabad, India, marking 100 years of the Commonwealth Games movement.
 
Dr. Rukare expressed appreciation for Prince Edward’s continued guidance and support in his role as Vice Patron, noting that such engagement strengthens collaboration and visibility for Commonwealth Sport activities.
 
The meeting underscores ongoing efforts to ensure successful delivery of upcoming Games and to promote unity and development through sport across member nations.
