National Sports Federations Undergo Safeguarding Training to Strengthen Safe Sport in Uganda

The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), through its Gender Equality and Diversity (GED) Commission, has commenced a one day Training of Trainers (ToT) for National Sports Federations and Associations leaders aimed at strengthening safeguarding systems across sport in Uganda.

Team Uganda to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games was officially flagged off earlier today at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, in a ceremony presided over by Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja.The flag-off brought together athletes, coaches, sports administrators, and government officials ahead of the games scheduled for July 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland.In her remarks, the Rt. Hon. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to athlete welfare.“The government is committed to ensuring that you are well taken care of and fairly remunerated so that you can represent our country with pride,” Nabbanja said. She urged the team to uphold the values of sport on the international stage.“I encourage you to compete with integrity, determination, and discipline. Go and make Uganda proud. We wish you success in Glasgow,”
