The event was a resounding success, with a packed room of enthusiastic Ugandans gathering to cheer on their national team ahead of their opening match against Namibia at the Emirates Arena today.
The Chairman of UgaScot, Mr. Alex Mubiru, expressed his team’s solidarity with the She Cranes, pledging to provide Ugandan breakfast to the team throughout the tournament. “We are proud to support our girls, and we believe they have what it takes to bring the trophy home,” he said.

The event was attended by young Ugandan Scots, who beamed with pride as they cheered on their national team. It was a moment of immense pride for the community, with many young Ugandans taking on leadership roles and supporting their team.
The Minister of State for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, is expected to attend the opening match against Namibia, along with the General Secretary of the National Council of Sports, Dr. Patrick Ogwel. Their presence is a testament to the government’s commitment to supporting Ugandan sports teams on the international stage.
