Cricket Uganda holds 2026 Annual General Meeting
Cricket Uganda convened its 2026 Annual General Meeting at Hotel Africana on March 28, gathering member clubs to discuss governance and progress. Chairman Kavuma Jackson and CEO Evelyn K.B. Shinyekwa presented the 2025 Annual Report, highlighting achievements and challenges. The Constitutional Review Report, presented by Robert Okot and Davis Karashani, sparked discussions on proposed amendments to enhance transparency and accountability. The meeting also featured an update from the National Council of Sports, with insights on collaboration and registration processes. Audited accounts, presented by Tervuren GMS, showed commitment to financial integrity, receiving a clean bill of health from the auditor.
In his remarks, Chairman Jackson expressed optimism, saying, “Our accounts were clean after the auditor gave a clean bill of health and the assembly approved it. In terms of the National Sports Act, we have been able to have dialogue with the National Council of Sports through the Legal Team that is Diana Kwesiga who guided us on the registration process. We were able to update the assembly on what has been taking place since last year in May. We hope come May this year when we are having our Special General Meeting, to adopt and approve the new constitution which will be able to pass the NCS’ test of reaching all districts in Uganda.’
