She Cranes Touch Down in Glasgow Ahead of Celtic Cup

The Uganda national netball team,She Cranes have officially arrived in Glasgow, Scotland, to compete in the much-anticipated Celtic Netball Tournament, running from 26th to 30th NOVEMBER 2025 at the Emirates Arena.
The team landed at Glasgow International Airport early Monday and received a warm welcome from officials of the Uganda High Commission in London, together with leaders of the Uganda Scotland Association.
Speaking shortly after arrival, the team Manager Alice Alwenyi expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness, noting that the players are in top form and fully focused on securing victory.
“We’re ready, motivated, and determined to bring this trophy home,”
the leader said.
Players echoed this optimism, promising a strong contest as they prepare for their opening match against Namibia on the 26th.
The Uganda High Commission and the Uganda Scotland Association commended the team’s commitment and pledged continued support throughout the tournament.
With elite teams set to clash in Glasgow, the She Cranes hope to deliver standout performances and make Uganda proud on the international stage.
The Celtic Cup also has Namibia, Zimbabwe,Wales,Northern Ireland and hosts Scotland and will be played at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena.
The squad in Scotland is currently of 12 players including Faridah Kadondi,Gloria Ayaa,Shaffie Nalwanja, Shakira Nasaka,Malisera Akello, Lilian Achola, Lilian Ajio,Christine Nakitto, Fildauce Namulema Specioza Namukose and Shadiah Nasanga.
Mary Nuba will join from Australia while team Captain Rachel Nanyonga is still in Uganda waiting for her visa.
