A Game-Changer Day for Athlete Voice: The First ISSA Athletes’ Commission Election

The first-ever ISSA Athletes’ Commission Election, held on November 6, 2025, marks a historic step toward empowering athletes and amplifying their voices within the global sports movement. This milestone event signifies the ISSA’s strong commitment to athlete representation, inclusion, transparency, and empowerment in international sport.
Through this election, the ISSA has ensured that athletes themselves have a direct voice in shaping the future of sport for all. Member nations and eligible athletes from across the globe participated in the voting process, underscoring the spirit of unity and collaboration that defines the sports community.
The result of the election is the formation of an eight-member Athletes’ Commission for the term 2025–2029. The elected athletes will serve as vital representatives, working to promote athletes’ interests and contribute to the continued development of sport worldwide.
