At every edition of the Commonwealth Games,track and field which is more popularly referred to simply as athletics is centre of focus and usually attracts alot of attention for Uganda.

Yet again, the scenario is likely to be the same when athletics gets underway at the EDF Scotstoun Stadium.

Uganda will feature in three genres on the day starting with a rare long jump appearance in which David Beckham Otim seeks to qualify to the next round.

Halima Nakayi will also be in action in the 800m qualifiers, but for Joy Cheptoyek, Rebecca Chelangat and Esther Chebet it’s a final in the women’s 10,000m.
