Cubs Have Kock-Out Football In Sight As They Return To Action Today
Uganda’s under 17 national football team the Cubs return to action in the final group K game against France at Aspire Zone pitch 3 in Al Rayan, Qatar knowing that victory edges the team close to the round of 32 knock stage.
The Cubs have played twice;losing 2-1 to Canada and playing out a 1-all draw against Chile in the second group K game.
This means that going into the final group game this afternoon at 3.30pm,the Cubs that have picked one point this far know that a victory with a good goal margin positions the team into either qualifying to the round of 32 as one of the top two in the group,or as one of the eight best third placed teams.
Canada (that plays Chile) and France top the group with four points.
The criteria for advancing to the next round is number of points obtained in the group followed by goal difference then number of goals scored with fair play as the last parameter.
So far, four teams; North Korea, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia are assured of a place into the next round which means that going into the final group games for groups I,j,k and l, four slots are up for grabs.
The Cubs have played twice; losing 2-1 to Canada and playing out a 1-all draw against Chile in the second group K game.
