Uganda, along with the rest of the world, will gather in Riyadh for the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games Running from 7–21 November, the Games will bring the sporting world together through the shared values of peace, unity, and hope.

It is a moving day for team Uganda in Riyadh at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games

Grueling action continues at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, 9th November 2025.
Uganda’s boxer Alfred Ojok who advanced to the semi-finals (medal bracket) returns to the Promenda Art Tower ring at 2:45 PM against Turkey’s Sultan Osmanli in the light heavy (80 Kg).
At the nearby Boulevard SEF Arena 01A, it is weightlifting action for Dubai based Ugandan Faruku Figo Kyambadde in the 65kg cluster.
Across the Boulevard SEF Arena 01B will be Table Tennis as team Uganda (men side) take on Guyana during the 1 PM group C fixture.
The male Table Tennis team succumbed 0-8 to Algeria on Saturday night at the same venue.
Meanwhile, the Uganda ladies Table Tennis team await to know their fate of qualification to the quarter finals with a pending group C contest between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
Uganda lost to Azerbaijan 2-8 and recovered to out-muscle Pakistan 8-4 in Saturday’s duels.
The swimming group will also back in action at the Riyadh Olympic Sports Complex swimming pool waters.
Hungary based swimmer Anna Gloria Muzito is in the final of the women’s 50M freestyle while Jesse Sengonzi will seek gold in the 50m butterfly.
US based Jessie Ssengonzi, Tara Ann Naluwooza Kisawuzi, Muzito and Tendo Mukalazi will constitute the 4X100 Mixed Relay team on Monday.
Uganda has competed in all the six editions of the Islamic Solidarity Games since inception in 2005 (Mecca).
