Chase For Netball Uganda Super League Glory Enters Critical Bend
By John Ssentamu
National netball super League action over the weekend registered victories for the top teams as some contested game 16,others 17 and some 18 at the Hamz stadium Nakivubo.
Table leaders Kampala Capital City Authority netball club beat Uganda People’s defense forces 58-47 on Saturday and added the scalp of UGX Luweero on Sunday which they walloped 74-43 to go to 35 points.
“In years gone by, we have been finishing second in the league because of putting the foot off the pedal in the second leg” said KCCA head coach Fred Mugerwa.
“But this season, we have reset and decided to focus on each and every game in the second leg as a final” he added
Record national netball League winners National Insurance Corporation also got two victories over the weekend.
On Saturday they beat Prisons 41-36 before a 41-26 victory over Dynamite maintained second position on 32 points.
“The teams are getting really tough. It seems they have done their homework. Every team you play doesn’t seem an easy go and hard to beat. I like that because it means the league is strong and that will benefit the national team with creme dela creme of players” is all NIC assistant Coach Ali Mugisha could say.
