Husnah Kukundakwe writes history as swimming climaxes.

Many years from now when mention is made about the 2026 Commonwealth Games, the name Husnah Kukundakwe will always be mentioned as the first to not only win Uganda a medal, Silver at that, but also the first ever aquatic sport podium finish.
On her second appearance at the Games, Husnah glided to the 100m breaststroke SB8 Silver medal in a moment that “left her elated and full of praise to all especially her family that has done everything to ensure she shines”.
Husnah in fact later contested in the 100m Freestyle S9,which despite not being her favourite, she managed entering the final that she finished 8th.
Husnah will get the instant 50m/- that Ministry of education and sports and national council of sports pledged for a Silver medal, with a 3m/- monthly stipend also in line till the next games.
The swimming cast at the Games was of nine athletes with the other Para-swimmer being 13-year old Condoleeza Nakazibwe who on debut performed tremendously in the 100m Freestyle S9.
Others on the team were Gloria Muzito, Jesse Ssengonzi, Jordan Samula, Tendo Kaumi, Tendo Mukalazi, Kirabo Namutebi and Tara Naluwoza.
