Uganda shines with table tennis and aquatics bronze at African Youth Games 2025
Uganda added more glory at the 4th African Youth Games in Angola after table tennis players Jemima Nakawala and Joseph Sebatindira secured bronze medals in the singles categories.
Sebatindira put up a spirited fight against Tunisia’s Youssef Aidli, the U-15 African champion, before losing 4-1 in the semifinals.
Nakawala also faced a tough opponent in Egypt’s Yara Elbadawy, losing 4-1 in the semifinal.
Uganda’s medal tally now includes three bronze medals; two from table tennis and one from athletics star Keren Chelimo, who finished third in the women’s 3000m with a time of 9:41.89.
In swimming, Suubi Peyton Mary set a new national long-course record of 18:46.08 in the girls’ 1500m freestyle, finishing 5th overall.
