UOC lauched the Olympism 365 Initiative

The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) under the Culture and Education commission launched the Olympism 365 at their head offices in Lugogo Kampala on the 9th of February 2018. The initiative is derived from the notion that there are 365 days in a year. With this in mind the organisation seeks to roll out a programme that will see the young people practice the values of Olympism and the true spirit of Sport.

An induction of teachers was done to create awareness about this initiative. The schools will be required to launch Olympic spirit clubs that will be mandated and tasked to implement the Olympic activities in these schools. Quarterly reports will be sent to the UOC by the different focal people in these schools alongside the guidance of the different sports teachers.

We believe that the values that the young people will learn from these activities will go a long way in helping to shape them.  This programme will be climaxed with an annual symposium and award giving ceremony where the outstanding schools and students from across the country will be awarded. This will also be a platform for the young people to interact and share ideas on the various Olympic activities they have done in their different schools.
