UOC held its Annual General Meeting on the 29th of February 2020 at their offices in Lugogo. The meeting was chaired by the Vice President Mr. Ambrose Tashobya because the President had official duties to attend to outside the country. Majority of the member federations and commissions sent representatives.
There were many items that were discussed in the meeting and it was highlighted that the main focus for 2020 will be on TOKYO 2020 Olympic games. Eighteen athletes had already qualified for the Olympics with special recognition to Joshua CHEPTEGEI and Halimah NAKAAYI who are both World champions.
UOC also suppressed expectations to exceed the 1500 mark of sports administrators under our sports management capacity building program.
New members were officially admitted as to the UOC fraternity among which included Judo, Skating, Modern Pentathlon and Golf. UOC has a total of 28 Olympic sports and 2 commonwealth sports that is Netball and squash.
