From the time Uganda Olympic Committee was formed way back in 1950 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1956, the UOC marked 65 in July 2021.
On the 2nd July 2021, the President of the Republic of Uganda and the First Lady officially flagged off the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Teams and the Paralympic Athletes in the various sporting disciplines and also commissioned the launch of the Uganda Olympic Committee at Sixty Five (65) booklet.
Members present included IOC Member Mr. William Frederick Blick, the UOC President Dr. Donald Rukare, the Secretary General, Ms. Beatrice Ayikoru and the NCS General Secretary Dr. Ogwel Bernard Patrick.
