Uganda Olympic Committee launch the game connect project

The Uganda Olympic Committee launched the Game connect project that took place at the Italian ambassador’s residence, together with its consortium partners; AVSI, Right to play, Youth Sport Uganda, Olympic Refugee Foundation, and UNHCR. The game connect project aims to improve psychosocial wellbeing and mental health of refugees.

The project will see over 10,000 young refugees in Uganda that will receive sports for protection games that will help them improve on their mental health over the three years. Kicking off with the different quartos that already started at the beginning of this year 2021, in the different selected refugee settlements, coaches and trainers have already been allocated for the different sports activities. The previous year 2020 has been a very challenging year for everyone especially the sports fraternity but this project is going to give many children to express themselves
through sports.

This specific project will host community members in Adjumani Refugee settlement, Rwamwanja Refugee settlement, Palabek Refugee settlement and Kampala respectfully. With these settlements identified different sport activities will be played assisted with coaches and supervisors. Hoping for the best Game connect project.
