Preparations for the forthcoming games are ongoing. Focus is on Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Team travel arrangements and vaccinations are ongoing. 1 additional athlete qualified from Athletics and notification for universality places in Swimming have been received. This brings the number of qualified athletes tentatively to 25. On the 13th April 2021, Uganda Olympic Committee launched the 100 days to Tokyo 2020. The 100 days’ campaign was aimed at preparing the athletes ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan- Tokyo. Different athletes that qualified for the
games were invited for the launch of the campaign. Absa Bank signed a contract worth 54.4 Million Uganda Shillings to the athletes aimed at preparation of the games in Tokyo.
The preparation for the Commonwealth Games is also ongoing. We received confirmations from some Federations/Associations to participate in the games. Reminders have been sent out to other members.
Two meetings were held athlete Brolin Mwanje and his team to discuss participation of Uganda in the Winter Games.
