Peyton ready to compete as Youth African games start.

Uganda swimmer Peyton Suubi says she is ready to take on her competition with hopes of making it to the finals and ultimately winning a medal in the Youth African games that start today the 10th of December 2025.
Speaking after the swimming team first training session she expressed that “So far it’s been good, we have had our first training session, the weather is there; I am hoping to qualify for finals and win because my competition is tight but am ready.’’
Peyton Mary Suubi and Isaiah Abner are two of 13 athletes representing Uganda at the event, and these two will be raising the flag high in swimming (aquatics). The swimmers are slated to compete in freestyle, butterfly and Breaststroke events: starting with preliminary races.
Peyton is confirmed to take part in 200m, 800m and 1500m freestyle, 200m Breaststroke and 50m butterfly. Isaiah on the other hand is confirmed to compete in 100m and 200m freestyle, and 50m butterfly.
The swimmers will have their first preliminary races at 9am Angola time on Thursday 11th December; Peyton starting with 1500m freestyle and Isaiah 100m freestyle.
The youth African games is a continental multi-sport event for young athletes aged 14 to 17 who compete in several sports disciplines for medals, and they are used to promote sport, discover and develop talents for global competitions.
This year’s event that is hosted in the beautiful Luanda city in Angola is expected to see athletes compete in 33 sports disciplines; and these games will be used as qualifiers for Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
