
The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), through its Capacity Building Department, held a three-day Sports Administrators’ Course (SAC) for the Northern Region of Uganda at Gulu University from September 28th to September 30th, 2022.
This was in accordance with the UOC’s strategic goal of capacity development for the period 2022-2027. The course was well attended with over 18 participants with various designations from all over northern region.
DETAILED ACCOUNT OF THE THREE-DAY COURSE.
Ssemanda Joseph Collins and Ganzi Mugula were among the six facilitators present on September 28th, 2022, for sessions on Principles, Structure, and Leadership of the Olympic Movement, The Games, and Athletes at the Heart of the Olympic Movement.
On the second day of the workshop, September 29, 2022, participants worked on topics such as promoting Olympic values and developing management skills. Nagganya Proscovia and Shillah Omuriwe Buyongo, facilitators, presented these.
Nagganya Proscovia, Lutalo Godwin, and Eddie Butindo facilitated themes on managing the organisation, resources, and activities on the program’s final day, September 30th, 2022.
The course was aimed at equipping participants with the skills to effectively carry out sports administration duties in various areas of the Northern Region.
