As the long awaited Tokyo 2020 Olympic games draw nearer, ABSA Uganda entered into a partnership with Uganda Olympic Committee in a bid to maximize performance at the Olympic Games. On May 21st 2021, Absa Bank Uganda Limited donated twenty-six million Uganda Shillings to all the qualified athletes of which each athlete was given One million Uganda Shillings per head and this money was deposited on each of the athletes Bank accounts. The seed funding donation dummy cheque was received by the President UOC, Dr. Donald Rukare, with athletes such as Halima Nakayi, Shadir Musa Bwogi, Ambala Atuhaire, Nanziri Catherine and Ssemujju Kavuma David. This was in a press conference conducted by ABSA Bank Uganda Limited. The funds were an addition to the first Shs. 54,500,000 that had been offered to facilitate the athlete preparation for the games.
